About Design Discoveries II

Design Discoveries II, Inc. has been in business since 1984. Owner David Gostecnik holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Texas. He is a member in good standing with Texas Institute of Building Design and the American Institute of Building Design, and has won many awards for design. Although not a licensed architect, through TIBD and AIBD he holds the title of Certified Professional Building Designer. 

Design Discoveries works with custom clients as well as local builders doing spec homes and homes for their clients. Design Discoveries had the pleasure of designing the 1999 Idea House for Southern Living Magazine here in Austin, Texas. We have also designed homes in the Texas Hill Country, Horseshoe Bay Resort, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and the Island of Bequia in the Caribbean.

We keep the art in architecture. We can design any style – Midcentury Modern, Hill Country Transitional, Hill Country, Old World, English, Country French, Spanish, Italianate, lake home, mountain home.

We also design home remodels. With a home remodel, we can change the style of the home, and can make sure the house does not have that “added on to” look.
